They can be made of different materials like grey cast iron, aluminium, stainless steel or carbon, plastic or wood. Extensive possibilities for machining – CNC and conventional methods – ensure flexible and versatile mould manufacturing. In 1992 Modell- und Formenbau Ekkehart Krahl was founded by its owner, Ekkehart Krahl, master craftsman of the model making trade. The company quickly developed into a medium-sized supplier for the industries. Since 1996 Modell- und Formenbau Ekkehart Krahl has been successfully certified according to the industrial standards of DIN EN ISO 9001. In 2018 we have been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015. The tools are tailored specifically to the individual needs of each customer so that their effective use is guaranteed. Highly qualified employees produce the tools with great craft skills. From the start of production until completion glass moulds and tools are produced by specialists within our company. This ensures independence, permanent influence on the production and, hence, a short delivery period. Foundry models are made of wood and plastic here and are then processed further for the production of castings for glass moulds and machine parts. Our own model construction guarantees the quick and trouble-free purchase of castings. Illustrative models are manufactured according to the customer’s ideas. Regardless of whether the information is contained in sketches or CAD files – we produce YOUR model! 3D-Models are designed on our CAD workstations and corresponding programs for our CNC machines are developed. Moreover, existing models, drafts or prototypes can also be digitalised and scanned. This means that manufacturing of complicated models and electrodes for our die-sinking system does not pose any problem.
