Glass Furnace Controlled Cool-Down


On occasions an existing furnace may not be scheduled to be totally rebuilt and parts of the original structure may require to be saved for a further furnace campaign life. If this is the case, then specialist combustion equipment will be required to reduce the furnace temperature on a gradual and controlled basis.
  • DISMATEC supply the specialist service of furnace cool-down, using a specialist sub-contractor having extensive experience in this field together and holding the specialist equipment to carry out the task.
  • We endorse this service by introducing a team of our experienced refractory and steelwork personnel to work with the furnace cool-down specialist sub-contractor. This enables any refractory or steelwork problem that may be experienced to be attended to immediately, during the furnace cool-down period.

 

Glass Furnace Refractory Structure and Associated Equipment Dismantling


The dismantling of the furnace structure including for;

is a specialist task, requiring the expertise and knowledge to plan and execute the sequence of dismantling, to ensure total safe working conditions, throughout this section of the scope of work programme.
  • DISMATEC are experienced in this field and supply a full controlled dismantling service to satisfy a total requirement, including experienced engineers to oversee the works, supervision, workforce personnel and specialist tackle and equipment.

Where possible, robotic dismantling plant and equipment is used, giving benefits over conventional systems, including;

Waste Materials Management and Disposal



The dismantling of furnaces generates an amount of waste products, some being inert and others being hazardous of different grades. In order to satisfy all legislation and environmental criteria, it important that the types of waste are identified at an early stage in the project and if possible prior to commencement of site work.
  • DISMATEC supply a total waste management and disposal service, including for the identification and removal from site of all waste materials, with some being re-cycled and other taken to land-fill or specialist waste disposal sites.

We work closely with the customer, local authorities, registered and certified waste disposal sub-contractors in order to satisfy all waste materials disposal criteria and legal obligations.

 

Engineering


DISMATEC provide a full glass plant Engineering package including;
  • Working with engineering drawings provided by the customer and developing these from the customer’s information, schemes and outline drawings to form a bill of materials for the scope of work.

Contract Management


DISMATEC believe, that in order to meet target dates and commercial levels set prior to commencement of a project, it is essential to have a high status of contract management.
We have in-depth knowledge of glass melting furnace design, associated equipment and materials supply, construction and commissioning, which allows us to offer a full contract management service for any size of project.
Our contract management service includes for the preparation and evaluation of tender documentation, negotiation with nominated suppliers, order placement, expediting all supply in order to achieve given delivery dates, materials and equipment inspection, overseeing all site works and general management of the contract.

 

Health and Safety Management


DISMATEC supply health & safety management services with a key aim to maintain the highest standard of health & safety throughout the execution of a project, by ensuring that standards and regulations are both understood and met.
We adopt a working practice of managing the health & safety requirements of a project from the design stage, through the construction and commissioning phases to completion under the current United Kingdom, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
Our health & safety managers are fully conversant with the current regulations and legislation applicable to any type of contract and have the practicable awareness to allow them to be pro-active towards contract and site conditions.
DISMATEC supply the facility of site health & safety audits, during the construction and commissioning phases of a project, conducted by qualified health & safety engineers. The health & safety audit helps to achieve the correct and highest standards of health & safety on the construction site, minimising the risk of injury to personnel.

 

Construction and Installation


Site Management

It is essential to have optimum communication levels and co-ordination of site workforce personnel of different disciplines, in order to maintain good working practices, high levels of health & safety and minimum areas of conflict, throughout the programme of works being carried out.
  • DISMATEC supply the service of site management, provided by experienced and qualified site managers helping to achieve the highest standards of workmanship, throughout the site work programme period.
  • Our site manager will liaise with the supervisors and staff of the total site workforce, together with the DISMATEC contract and project management personnel, on daily basis.

Site Supervision and Workforce

A major factor towards the success of any installation is experienced construction and installation personnel who are knowledgeable in the fields of materials, installation methods and techniques, for all aspects of glass melting furnace construction and installation of plant and equipment.
  • DISMATEC supply site supervision and workforce personnel of all Construction and Installation disciplines, having the necessary skills to satisfy the requirements of supplying a high quality product, including,
