Tiama Elab Flexible Automatic Statistical Dimensional measurements
The Tiama Elab is a laboratory system providing quick, accurate, non-contact dimensional measurements compatible with the hot end, cold end and laboratory working conditions of a glass factory.
The unique design of the Tiama Elab ensures accurate measurement solutions for the industry’s wide range of glass container designs including non-round shapes. The system provides laboratory measurements such as standard ISO-CETIE-GPI finish dimensions, height, diameter, tilt, verticality, bent neck, internal bore profile, tuck-under angle (D-angle). It can also provide 2D colour charts displaying the flatness of the labelling area (sunk and bulge) and the vertical glass thickness/distribution.
In order to save time for operators, a robot arm can also be installed on the machine allowing measurements to be carried out automatically.
During Job change and cruise production the Tiama Elab allows container measurements directly at the hot end to improve production efficiency by reducing the time response between dimensional diagnostics and counter measures on process.
These measurements allow to identify issues on the current production and therefore help solving problems before the operators receive the cold end feedback.
Tiama Elab can also be operated at the cold end as an automatic on line sampling solution or at the laboratory.
The Tiama solution can be integrated in an automated laboratory cell and combined with Somex equipment such as Somex Roburst (pressure test), Somex liquidlink (volume) and Somex APIT (automatic impact test) to create the Unicell solution.
The Tiama Elab collects measurement data from all samples and produces automatic and protected reports. Thanks to data, the communication between the Hot End, Cold End and quality is improved with a positive impact on production and quality processes.
