Glass Container Forming Process Animation, is the world’s first 3D interactive animation that shows how a glass gob is transformed into a bottle or jar. In the glass container industry this process step is often referred to as forming. There are three different forming processes that can be used on an I.S. forming machine, these are Blow & Blow (BB), Press & Blow (PB) and Narrow Neck Press & Blow (NNPB). This application lets you look inside the different mould equipment parts showing how a glass bottle and jar is being shaped.

How does this simulation match the real timing?

The three different forming processes are based on real production data (machine timing, gob weight). All movements are exactly as on a real I.S. forming machine. Even the mould equipment that is being shown is based on reality, the parison and mould design used is from real jobs designed by APEGG.

Who should use the App?

The App is for students who want to learn about the different glass container forming processes. Glass makers will also find it useful for defect troubleshooting discussions and during forming process or training.

What can the user do?

The user is immersed in a virtual production process and can control this process. All the different movements can be viewed from different angles close up or from far. By default, the animation shows the process in real time, but the user can stop and even adjust the speed for better understanding. The camera position can be changed to focus on specific areas of the process.
