Hot end defect recognition


The Tiama HOT eye is a solution for container defect detection, recognition and dimensional inspection at the hot-end.
The system is able to detect and recognize critical defects such as birdswings or wings.
It can also perform dimensional measurements with up to 6 diameters, 3 verticalities and 2 heights which gives the possibility for early detection of dimensional drifts.
The Tiama HOT eye is synchronized with the IS machine allowing to link the data and the images provided by the system to the sections and cavities to know where the issue comes from. The operator can take immediate and targeted actions onto the process without waiting for the cold end feedback. Detecting critical defects at the hot end allows to reduce the number of blocked pallets and therefore to save money.
The Tiama HOT eye is a system composed of two high definition cameras located inside two metallic tubes and a light source. These parts are directly fixed on the conveyor after the IS machine. The system has been designed to resist to the harsh environment of the hot-end. Also, if the production line is already equipped with the Tiama HOT form, the camera of the Tiama HOT eye will be installed in the same tubes than the ones used by the Tiama HOT form in order to limit the footprint of the systems.
